I have the soul of the Cariboo in my blood now. The beauty and serenity of a cold, clear night, the sky filled with stars and the quiet crackling of the frozen pine trees. The orange full moon rising gently above the ice covered lake thats being carressed by whispers of fog. In the woods nearby a family of coyotes howl together at the amazing display.Meanwhile, free range cows and horses graze on a nearby hillside, their young at their sides in the pale moonlight .I came here with my family from Saltspring Island and have achieved a new awareness that life's journey is about embracing the simple, natural rhythm's in the world around us. In this way we can achieve a better balance within our own lives which allows us to experience more happiness.This morning I watched a moose cross the frozen lake, leaving fresh tracks as she made her way towards the barn. The horses were in quiet acceptance of her presence as they munched on their hay. Soon, I will be bringing fresh hot beet pulp from my kitchen to warm their stomachs and their spirits. They whinny as i open the door like chimes....
